The Eastern North Pacific Grey Whale was listed as endangered some 40 years ago due whale hunting. It was delisted in 1994 when population levels rose to 20,103 and remained stable. In the right season, the gray whale can be seen off the coast of Point Reyes. Photo: Joe McKenna.
