Oakland Museum of California

The Oakland Museum of California is devoted to California's art, history, and natural sciences. The museum offers visitors an opportunity to better understand the nation's most populous state and the world's eighth-largest economy. Programs range from Family Explorations to Eureka Days, when school groups pan for gold. The Fungus Fair, presented with the SF Mycological Society, and the California Wildflower Show are among the Bay Area's most popular nature events.
