Join Taylor “Taye” Bright for a flat, slow, gentle walk discovering mushrooms and fungi in Armstrong Redwoods. You will learn the basics of mushroom identification, fungi’s ecological roles in redwood ecosystems, and much more. In addition to well-known species such as Turkey Tail (Trametes versicolor) and the Red Belted Conk (Fomitopsis mounceae), we have found more uncommon species such as a special bright yellow waxy cap (Hygrocybe glutinipes var. rubra), and a blue variety of the parrot mushroom (Gliophorus psittacinus) on previous walks!
