This 2013 New Years Day hike offers great views, sweet ocean air, and the regenerative silence of the wild. You’ll climb the Ridge and Ancient Oaks Trails, and if weather permits, you’ll stop atop Borel Hill for snacks with a view before returning down to your cars. This moderately difficult, leisurely-paced, 3-mile hike will be led by docent Keith JohnsgĂ„rd.

Meet at the Russian Ridge Preserve parking lot on the northwest corner of the Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection (across Skyline Blvd. on the right). Those driving from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 40 minutes travel time.
