Learn to identify the tracks and scat of the region’s larger mountain mammals (coyotes, bobcats, grey fox, pumas, badgers, and mule deer) and speculate about the tales the wildlife signs may tell. Docents Keith JohnsgĂ„rd and Steve Brugler will lead this leisurely 2-mile stroll (with many stops) over the mostly flat northern section of the Ancient Oaks Trail. Hope for mud!
Meet at the Caltrans vista point opposite Russian Ridge Preserve gate RR-01. The parking area is located on Skyline Boulevard, 1.2 miles north of Page Mill Road and 6 miles south of Highway 84. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 35 minutes travel time.
