10/10/12 UPDATE: THIS EVENT IS FULL.

What: Dave Johnston returns to lead us once again on his popular bat walk and talk at McClellan Ranch Preserve. Dave will first give a PowerPoint presentation on bats around the world and then lead us on an after dark exploration of the Preserve to find our local bats. Armed with a special device which will allow us to “hear” the inaudible calls of the bats, we will learn to identify species by sound as well as by sight. Space is very limited; sign up soon if you are interested.

When: Wednesday, October 17, from 5:45 to 8:00 pm. Please arrive on time as we need to get everyone signed in so Dave can begin the presentation right at 6:00. Sundown is at 6:30 and we want to be out the door a half hour later – at 7:00 – at prime bat viewing time.

Where: Meet at McClellan Ranch Preserve Conference Room, 22221 McClellan Road in Cupertino. Dave will give a one hour presentation in the conference room and then we will head out in to the Preserve for our walk.

Who: Participants of all ages are welcome; minors under 18 require a signed waiver and those under 16 require an accompanying adult.

Please bring: A flashlight. And you will be happiest if you wear comfy shoes and dress appropriately for the weather.

Minors under 18 must bring a waiver form signed by a parent.

Contact joannem@acterra.org for more information.

PLEASE NOTE: When you complete your registration for this event, you DO NOT need to print a receipt or ticket.
