As we barrel down the hiking trail, we cause disturbances that ripple through the forest like a stone dropped in a pond. If we can minimize our disturbance and “tune-in” to nature around us, we increase our chances of viewing Big Basin’s wonderful wildlife. Join Docent Steve Stolper for a 3-mile, 5-hour hike to practice techniques to increase our nature awareness and reduce our disturbance. Please bring either soft-soled moccasins or an extra pair of socks that you will get dirty. Bring at least one liter of water, lunch, snacks, and appropriate clothing. Meet at Park Headquarters.
