SUMMARY:Bees and Flowers: A Selective Love Affair
DESCRIPTION:Discover Nature with Pepperwood at this free lecture. California’s native flowering plants and native bees have a closely associated evolutionary relationship. Do native bees exhibit these same relationships with native plants in urban environments? What about with non-native plants? In this lecture\, Dr. Gordon Frankie\, University of California\, Berkeley\, will discuss patterns established between bees and plants in these environments. He will also talk about the potential for using native bees to supplement the pollination activities of honey bees which are declining due to Colony Collapse Disorder. Friday\, March 1\, 2013 6pm open house followed by the lecture at 7pm   Dwight Center FREE
