Docents Amy and Mike Sanchez would like to show you how to spot and identify local birds. You’ll walk at a moderate pace, on this 2.5-mile trek, with stops at trail intersections and at special points of interest only. The hike route will explore the Zinfandel Trail and circle the pond on the Bear Meadow Trail. (Note: Arrive early to find parking.) Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after April 25.
Meet at the Picchetti Ranch Preserve parking lot. From the intersection of I-280 and Foothill Expressway, go 3.5 miles southwest (toward the mountains) on Foothill Boulevard/Stevens Canyon Road. Turn right on Montebello Road. The preserve is 0.5 miles up Montebello Rd. on the left.
