SUMMARY:Bird Identification Workshop – Tips, Tricks, and How-to
DESCRIPTION:Bird Identification Workshop – Tips\, Tricks\, and How-to Register by visiting this link.     Tuesday\, Oct. 30th\, Thursday\, Nov. 1st (instruction)\, 6:30 – 9:00 pm\, Sunday\, Nov. 4th (fieldtrip)\, TBA There are many challenges to becoming a birder\, particularly if you want to identify everything you are looking at. This takes a lot of practice\, but the good thing is that practice is birding\, and birding is fun! One major challenge in identification is to see the bird not as parts but as a whole\, observing not only pattern and color\, but also recognizing the way they move and behave. Also\, we rarely focus on the face\, which is one of the most important features on a bird. In this workshop\, we will begin to understand how the brain identifies birds and how to utilize our innate recognition skills to apply them to birding. We also discuss tips and tricks to facilitate identification\, in the field and at home. This will be a holistic\, multi-faceted workshop on bird identification and will be unlike any birding class you have previously attended! End the frustration of trying to I.D. birds on your own and get new perspective on bird identification. Birding Level: Beginner on up. Physical Requirements (for fieldtrip): Easy. We will pick one or two sites where a wide diversity of birds can be found and put what we learned in class to use in the field. The Bird ID workshop will be held at the Sobrato Center for Non-profits in Redwood City\, Bay C Room\, 330 Twin Dolphin Dr.\, Redwood City.
LOCATION:330 Twin Dolphin Dr., Redwood City, CA, 94065, United States
