The open house is a great opportunity for all ages to explore the diverse ecosystem of the 535-acre nature preserve and learn about all the programs offered at Bouverie including nature education programs for adults and more than 6,000 elementary schoolchildren from ethnically and economically diverse neighborhoods in San Francisco, Marin, Alameda, Sonoma and Napa Counties each year. Other program offerings to be explored will be the docent training program, habitat restoration projects, Backyard Naturalist Programs and Guided Nature Walks.
As part of the open house, Bouverie Preserve volunteers will lead guided hikes of the preserve, every 30 minutes from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Kids activities include:
- Native American games
- Creating mammal track cards
- Making a nature journal
