SUMMARY:California Invasive Plant Council Symposium
DESCRIPTION:This event brings together natural resource managers\, research ecologists and volunteer stewards to discuss the latest information in wildland weed research\, control techniques\, prioritization\, program design and policy. As wildland stewardship faces a century of change\, our special sessions at this year's symposium look at working across time\, landscapes and taxon. Also included are sessions on new developments at the statewide level. This is a series of sessions\, such as Saturday field trips visiting local weed removal projects or areas of scenic interest\, giving attendees another opportunity to mingle with colleagues and local experts. This year\, we will be visiting Mount Tamalpais\, northern Napa County wildlands\, a pollinator-friendly farm and Sonoma County restoration hotspots. The event begins with a pre-symposium Habitat Restoration Workday October 10 (time and location TBA) and runs October 11-13\, but the early registration deadline is September 7. Prices increase after this date.
