SUMMARY:California Trail Days
DESCRIPTION:Maintain the King Mountain Loop Trail. This project honoring California Trails days will kick off our Adopt-A-Portion of the King Mountain trail program. Every year invasive French broom plants encroach on the King Mountain Loop and Ladybug Trail corridor. The plants grow at such a rapid rate that they must be cleared regularly to maintain trail access. We are instituting the adoption program and inviting volunteers to adopt sections of trail to keep clear year-round. We are bringing back the Green Gorilla Volunteers! Green Gorillas helped build and maintain the trail years ago. When you adopt the trail and become a Green Gorilla volunteer you will keep the spirit of the original volunteer effort alive. Dress in layers\, wear sturdy shoes\, and bring water. Heavy rain may cancel. If questionable weather\, call (415) 473-3778 after 7am on the morning of the event to hear a recorded message if cancelled. DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 101 in Corte Madera\, take exit 449A for Tamalpais Dr west approximately 1 mile. Veer left onto Redwood\, sharp right onto Corte Madera Ave (turns into Magnolia Ave)\, left onto Ward St. right onto Hawthorne Ave\, left onto Ajax St\, very sharp left onto Cedar Ave\, and follow to end (dead ends). Cedar Ave forks into two roads; be sure to stay left.
