Alviso Marina County Park is the gateway to the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. We are guided on a three–mile loop of the Alviso Slough Trail. Enjoy views of the wetlands, migratory birds and other wildlife, and the mountains surrounding the bay. Observe California’s smallest butterfly, the Western Pygmy Blue, during its breeding season. Learn how it thrives in a harsh, alkaline environment. Binoculars are available to share. We end the day with a social picnic (provided for you).
