DESCRIPTION:COME CELEBRATE THE COMING OF FALL!  Laguna Environmental Center Open House   Saturday\, September 8th\, 2012  10am-3pm  As part of our ongoing Second Saturday of the Month Open Houses:  September 8\, October 13\, November 10\, and Decmember 8  FREE  Laguna Environmental Center\, 900 Sanford Road (at the corner of Occidental Rd.)\, Santa Rosa CA  95401    &nbsp;    Learn about the natural and cultural history of the Laguna de Santa Rosa and historic Stone Farm by taking a self-guided nature walk or a guide-led tour of the historic house and barn.  Fun\, hands-on environmental education activities for all ages!  Stop by for a visit and take in the beautiful views.  Birdwatch from the observation deck.  Bring a picnic!  Enjoy our gift shop and art exhibits in the new Great Blue Heron Hall including amazing Laguna wildlife photographs by Don Jackson.    &nbsp;    This is a working farm\, please leave your pets at home (except service animals).  The site is wheelchair accessible.  Come join us!  The Laguna de Santa Rosa Foundation works to preserve\, restore\, and increase public appreciation and enjoyment of the Laguna de Santa Rosa\, the largest tributary of the Russian River and Sonoma County’s richest wildlife area.  The Foundation’s programs restore and enhance wildlife habitat\, provide classroom and field trip learning experiences for school children\, conduct scientific research\, and create opportunities for the public to learn about and experience the Laguna’s wonders.  We work collaboratively with landowners\, public agencies and partner organizations to improve the Laguna’s ability to support wildlife\, improve water quality\, provide flood protection and enhance our quality of life with outdoor recreation opportunities.
