You’ll enjoy the spring wildflowers as you descend to historic Alpine Road on the Coal Creek Preserve. You’ll continue your hike by crossing into Monte Bello Preserve to explore the area around a little visited pond on this leisurely-paced hike of about 4 miles.

Meet at the Caltrans vista point opposite Russian Ridge Preserve gate RR01. The parking area is located on Skyline Boulevard, 1.2 miles north of Page Mill Road and 6 miles south of Highway 84. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 40 minutes travel time.
