you’ll enjoy the chaparral, meadows, and vistas, as well as pursue the big-berry manzanita and other flora that are characteristic of this Preserve. Join docents Dennis Smith, Lynn Jackson, Bill Korbholz, and Laura Levin on this moderately-paced 4.5-mile hike. Don’t forget your lunch and binoculars (if you have them) so you can relax, eat, and watch birds and the vistas from the summit!

For this activity at St. Josephs Hill Preserve, meet at the parking lot located at the northeast corner of Highway 9 and Santa Cruz Avenue in Los Gatos across from Hobees Restaurant. The sign at the lot says “Free Unlimited Parking – Northside Lot.” Take Highway 17 south toward Los Gatos. Exit at Hwy. 9-Los Gatos/Saratoga and continue west on Hwy 9. (approx. 1/3-mile) to the parking lot, located on your right just before Santa Cruz Ave. Carpool to the activity location.
