You’ll find that winter is the ideal time to hike the upper reaches of El Sereno Preserve. The southern exposure will warm you as you descend, then return on the Aquinas Trail on this moderately-paced, 3-to 4-mile hike. Explorer docents Dennis Smith, Lynn Jackson, Bill Korbholz, and Laura Levin will help you understand more about the special chaparral habitat dominating this preserve. (Note: Participants will carpool to a trailhead with limited parking.) Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after January 16.

For this activity at El Sereno Preserve, meet at the parking lot located at the northeast corner of Highway 9 and Santa Cruz Avenue in Los Gatos. The sign at the lot says Free Unlimited Parking – Northside Lot. Take Highway 17 south toward Los Gatos. Exit at Hwy. 9-Los Gatos/Saratoga and continue west on Hwy. 9 (approx. 1/3-mile) to the parking lot, located on your right just before Santa Cruz Ave. Carpool to the hike location.

Preregistration is required. Find out more at the MROSD page for this event.
