Get Active! Youth Creativity Exhibit Opens in Tilden Regional Park

As part of the Healthy Parks Healthy People initiative, the East Bay Regional Park District invited youth ages 12 to 18 to enter the Get Active! Youth Creativity Contest, to showcase their talents and share with others the importance of the outdoors in their lives. The Park District celebrates the creativity of the participants, and is pleased to announce an exhibit of the winning entries, November – December 2012 in Tilden Regional Park
“Parks play a vital role in the health of teens, their families and communities,” said Park District Board President Carol Severin, who served on a panel of judges for the contest. “I was pleased to see the creativity of the entrants, as they expressed what parks mean to them.”
The East Bay Regional Park District is a public agency operating regional parks, recreation areas, and trails throughout Alameda and Contra Costa counties. Recently, the East Bay Regional Park District has received accolades for its signature programs connecting health and the outdoors, such as the Kids Challenge, Trails Challenge, and Healthy Parks Healthy People initiative. The Get Active! Youth Creativity Exhibit is part of the Park District’s ongoing outreach to families around the connection of health and nature.
