Saturday, Nov. 17, 9 AM to 2 PM
Help restore oak woodland and grassland habitat by removing outcompeting small Douglas-fir trees on Mt. Tamalpais and learn how to use the evergreen branches to make holiday decorations for your home.
Wreath and decorating supplies will be provided, but please bring personal tools if you have them and additional materials, such as small ornaments, ribbon, dried flowers or sparkly bits of recycled materials that can be repurposed for your own unique decorations.
The Habitat Restoration activity runs from 9 until 11:30 a.m. After a lunch break (please bring your own lunch; we will provide drinks), the crafting lesson goes from 12:30 to 2:00 p.m. at Sky Oaks Headquarters. The Vilda Foundation will run the crafting workshop. They provide hands-on nature education to children, adults and educators. Learn more at www.vildafoundation.org.
Meet at the Lake Lagunitas parking area, at the end of Sky Oaks Road off Bolinas Road in Fairfax. Parking passes will be provided. This event is FREE but limited to 30 participants, so please reserve a space. The whole family is welcome!
