SUMMARY:Healdsburg Ridge Trail Watch Training
DESCRIPTION:        &nbsp;    The beautiful 161-acre Healdsburg Ridge Open Space Preserve was opened to the public in November 2008.  The property is now being cooperatively managed by an agreement between the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation &amp; Open Space District\, the City of Healdsburg Parks &amp; Recreation Department\, and LandPaths.  Through once monthly monitoring visits to Healdsburg Ridge\, volunteers in the Trail Watch program play an important role as “eyes and ears” of the preserve by monitoring park use information\, keeping track of change on the ground\, and providing regular and timely updates to LandPaths about property conditions.  Trail Watch Volunteers:     Patrol the property by foot at least once per month   Monitor use levels throughout the preserve (# of users\, type of use\, time of day and   location)   Observe road and trail conditions\, especially erosion problems and/or access problems   Monitor culvert conditions\, noting blocked or plugged culverts and location   Note downed trees\, overgrown vegetation\, invasive plants          Where    The training will take place at the Healdsburg Ridge Open Space Preserve located on the north end of urban Healdsburg.    From Hwy. 101\, take the Dry Creek exit and go east.  Turn left on Healdsburg Ave. and go about 1 mile.  Turn right on Parkland Farms Blvd. and take it all the way to the end (about ¾ miles).  Turn right on Bridle Path (just before Parkland Farms dead-ends).  The preserve is located at the end of Arabian Way; look for signs to direct you to the trailhead.    What to bring    Snacks\, water\, good shoes\, weather appropriate clothing in layers\, camp chair for the first 45 minutes of the training\, a calendar for scheduling\, and your questions and enthusiasm!    Details\, Details     This outing is offered by LandPaths in partnership with the City of Healdsburg and the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District.   You will be asked to sign a liability waiver   You will need to complete a volunteer application (available at the training) before you can take part in this program   No smoking is allowed at Healdsburg Ridge   Please do not bring your dog to the training   There are no restrooms at the site    &nbsp;
