Join SMD Steward Burt Bogardus on this moderate hike to admire the beautiful north side slopes of Mount Diablo. The 17-acre Young Canyon property is one of Save Mount Diablo’s smaller properties but offers an opportunity to experience a part of the mountain that is normally not easily accessible. Burt is a retired Mt. Diablo State Park ranger and has a vast depth of knowledge about the park and natural history of the mountain. There are several steep sections to this 3+ mile hike. Wear long pants to avoid poison oak, dress in layers and heavy rain cancels. RSVP Required.
