For the last of winter’s highest tides, Saturday, Feb. 9,
join Friends of Five Creeks and Berkeley Path Wanderers Assn. to explore how the Berkeley-area shoreline may change as global warming brings sea-level rise, how flooding and erosion may affect us, and what happens to shore-dependent wildlife.
Meet at 10 AM at Sea Breeze Deli, University Avenue just west of I-880/580 (AC Transit 51B, easy bike ride on Bay Trail and/or bridge over freeway). This will be an easy, level walk; we’ll also enjoy a new extension of the Bay Trail and see exciting restorations. This walk should be do-able for strollers and wheelchairs except for a few short excursions. Sorry, no dogs — they are excluded from some areas we will visit. Information at f5creeks@aol.com or 510 848 9358.
