Discover the stories of this area, including that of the ill-fated Resolution airplane crash on Kings Mountain with docents Fran Keeler and Ranjana Sharma on this strenuous, 11-mile, 2,100-foot gain hike. Along the way, you’ll visit a unique sandstoneformation and a venerable old-growth redwood tree as you trek through dense forests on the Tafoni, Resolution, Methuselah, Giant Salamander, Timberview, and Manzanita Trails.
For this activity at El Corte de Madera Creek Preserve, meet at Skeggs Point, a Caltrans vista point on the east side of Skyline Boulevard, about 4 miles north of La Honda Road (Highway 84) and 1.5 miles south of Kings Mountain Road. Please note that Caltrans prohibits a left turn into the lot when approaching from the north along Skyline Blvd.
