LEAF Academy (leafacademy.org) connects middle-school students to ecological systems and empowers them to make changes in their own community. During the LEAF two week summer program, students work with various eco-professionals and not only learn about environmental stewardship, but also learn the value of creative thinking, collaboration and leadership. Following the Academy, LEAF students design projects to engage their own communities in environmental issues. These projects help foster real world skills while providing valuable public service and new confidence in the student leaders.
