Come have a great time helping DiRT restore a section of Galindo Creek at the foot of Mount Diablo on SMD’s Mangini Ranch property. We fenced a seven acres along Galindo Creek including a seasonal pond and wetland to give us the ability to manipulate grazing patterns. We’ll be helping expand Nacelle pilchard, Elms triticoides, and juncus populations by clearing thatch and non-native weeds.
Bring water, a snack and a reinforced steel rake if you have one – we’ll provide extras. Wear long pants, long sleeves and layers. We’ll be working rain or shine. RSVP to gphillips@savemountdiablo.org or 925-947-3535.
Meet at the hiker gate on Crystyl Ranch Drive. From Walnut Creek head east on Ygnacio, just past Lime Ridge turn right on Crystyl Ranch Dr., the gate is on the right between Autumn Oak Cir. and Rolling Hills Way.
