Explore the magical world of bird songs and learn the many ways and reasons that birds vocalize.  Join David Lukas as he presents his popular Mystery of Bird Song talk, followed by time in the field where we will continue our discussion and identify birds that are vocalizing.

With a life-long love of nature and a background in biology, David has traveled around the world working on biological research projects, and worked for several years in the Sierra Nevada with poet Gary Snyder.  David now lives outside Yosemite National Park, and devotes himself to writing and teaching about the natural world.  His publications include “Bay Area Birds:  From Sonoma County to Monterey Bay” and “Sierra Nevada Birds:  A Compact Field Guide Companion.”  His books will be available for sale at the workshop.
