The Friends of Sausal Creek (FOSC) will hold their 9th annual native plant sale and open house at their native plant nursery in Joaquin Miller Park on Sunday, October 19, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Native plant experts will be available all day to help shoppers pick appropriate plants for their specific planting areas. The day’s festivities will include a presentation by Native Bird Connections with live raptors at 1 p.m. and live bluegrass music at 2:30 p.m. Tablers include the Spider Chick and her live arachnids, Alameda County Master Gardeners, Pollinator Posse, Pollinate Farm & Garden, and free face painting.
The FOSC nursery grows natives from locally collected seeds and cuttings, primarily for use in our restoration projects. The nursery opens to the public only once a year. Don’t miss this chance to stock up on local native plants at great prices—and to support the Friends of Sausal Creek!
