Hidden among the salt ponds is one of the EastBay’s most intriguing historical sites. The South Bay Salt Pond Restoration Project is sponsoring this hike to the old Oliver Salt Works within the Eden Landing Ecological Reserve.
We’ll be walking into an area of the Reserve not yet open to the public so please be prepared to walk two miles on unimproved levees.
