Join docents Fran Keeler and Ranjana Sharma on an exploration of the remote trails of this Preserve. On this demanding 12-mile, 2,500-foot elevation gain loop hike, you’ll ascend on the PG&E and the new Quarry Trails, and return on the Black Mountain, Chamise, and Rogue Valley Trails. Along the way you’ll view a panorama from San Francisco to San Jose, gain a unique view of the Permanente Quarry, and visit Deer Hollow Farm.
Meet at the Rancho San Antonio Preserve/County Park main parking lot. From I-280, take Foothill Boulevard south and turn right almost immediately onto Cristo Rey Drive. Continue about 1 mile, veer right around the traffic circle, and turn left into the Preserve/County Park. Go to the lot farthest to the right and meet near the restroom at the bottom of the hill.
