Jenner has proven to be a spectacular destination to observe raptors, and notable species identified on the Jenner Headlands last year included ferruginous hawks, bald eagles and golden eagles. With the help of “raptor magnet” Larry Broderick, we will learn raptor identification techniques in real time as these migrating raptors take advantage of the wind on the coastal prairie mountainside. The strenuous 4.5-mile roundtrip hike will ascend more than 800 feet in elevation. Some sections of the route are especially rough with uneven footing; being in good physical condition is a must.
