Hear the fascinating story of how California slowly emerged from the sea during North America’s 200 million year westward voyage, how the San Andreas Fault took form, and how thousands of subsequent earthquakes shaped the fault landscape that you’ll traverse. Docents Keith JohnsgĂ„rd and Dave Boore will lead this 3-mile outdoor moving classroom. (Note: This activity is geared specifically for adults and is not suitable for children).

Meet at the Los Trancos Preserve parking lot on Page Mill Road (across from Monte Bello Preserve), 7 miles west of I-280 or 1.5 miles east of Skyline Boulevard. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 35 minutes travel time.
