SUMMARY:Solar System Perspective Project
DESCRIPTION:A full scale model of the solar system will be temporarily installed at Stinson Beach in Marin County\, from early morning Saturday\, September 15 through mid-afternoon Sunday September 16\, 2012.  The sun will be at the extreme east end of the beach\, with the planets strung out in correct scale for distance and size (the same scale\, about a billion-and-a-half to one) along the beach.  It's a great opportunity to really "grok" the magnitude of the emptiness of our solar system\, by taking it all in at once.
