Do you enjoy exploring with children in the outdoors and helping them to discover and appreciate their natural environment? If you get excited investigating the beach, riding a boat on the Bay, peering under docks and rocks for animal life or bird watching from the pier, the City of Berkeley Marina Volunteer program could be for you! This hands-on training is great for people exploring a career in outdoor education or looking for worthwhile retirement activities. Training covers such topics as the history of the Bay, marine habitats, Bayshore plant and animal life and how to teach children creatively and have fun. The training will take place at the Shorebird Nature Center at the Berkeley Marina. Sessions begin Oct 18th,  and classes continue through August.  People welcome anytime.  $62 fee to cover training materials, nametag, and 2 boat trips. For details and to obtain an application, please call Patty Donald at (510) 981-6720 or check out our website at http://www.cityofberkeley.info/marina
