SUMMARY:The San Andreas Fault
DESCRIPTION:Hear the remarkable story of how California slowly emerged from the sea during North America's 200 million year westward voyage\, how the fault was formed\, and how thousands of subsequent earthquakes shaped the landscape that you'll traverse. Docents Keith Johnsgård and Jenny Whitman will lead this 2.5-mile\, geomorphology field trip. (Note: This activity is intended for participants age 18 years or older and is not suitable for younger children.) Reservations are required and will be accepted on or after August 2.    Meet at the Los Trancos Preserve parking lot on Page Mill Road (across from Monte Bello Preserve)\, 7 miles west of I-280 or 1.5 miles east of Skyline Boulevard. Those traveling from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 35 minutes travel time.    Preregistration is required. Find out more at the MROSD page for this event.
