Help all-volunteer Friends of Five Creeks remove invasive, fire-prone French broom near Tilden Regional Park’s Lake Anza and historic merry-go-round. We’ll supply snacks, water, tools, and gloves — and treat volunteers to a ride on the 100-year-old carousel! Bring a picnic lunch! Bring a swimsuit and towel and enjoy a swim afterwards at Lake Anza, too!

Wear closed-toed shoes with good traction, and long pants and sleeves — there is poison oak in the area. (This is not the outing for very young children or those who are very sensitive to poison oak.)

Meet at Orchard Picnic Area. To get there, from Central Park Drive in Tilden Park turn onto Lake Anza Road and then promptly left onto Brook Road — the picnic area is near the top of Brook Road on your right.

Download the map at http://www.ebparks.org/parks/tilden#trailmapThere is no cell-phone service in Tilden! Easy walk from AC Transit 67 stop at the Carousel.
