SUMMARY:Trail restoration on Mt. Tamalpais
DESCRIPTION:Join us to conduct tread and vegetation maintenance along shady Helen Markt Trail. We will meet at 9 a.m. at the Cataract trailhead\, which is just past Alpine Dam on Bolinas-Fairfax Road. We might even make it as far as the world famous Swede Gorge Bridge!    Helen Markt Trail is named after Helen Markt\, who with her husband Frank was a toll taker on Ridgecrest Boulevard in the 1930s when the road was a toll road to the top of Mt. Tamalpais. The trail was under construction in the early 1950s at the time of Helen's death\, so it was named in her honor. Ref: A Visitor's Guide to Mount Tamalpais and Muir Woods by Michael Hanrahan.
