Learn to monitor and record behavior of the western pond turtle. The required orientation includes a hike around Lake Lagunitas. Volunteers will monitor from March through May on their own schedule and can be as young as 8 if accompanied by an adult.

Thank you for your interest in volunteering on the Mt. Tamalpais Watershed. Below are guidelines for our events.

Wear close-toed shoes and long pants and dress for variable weather. Bring your lunch, a reusable water bottle and lots of friends! MMWD provides breakfast snacks, water, tools and inspiration.

For cancellation information, call 415-945-1128 after 7:30 a.m. the morning of an event.Trail crew events are suitable for ages 13 and up, and habitat restoration events for ages 8 and up. Volunteers under age 16 must have a parent present at the event.

Volunteers under age 18 must bring a permission form signed by a parent or guardian. Contact us for a form.
