PLEASE NOTE: Due to muddy conditions and rainy weather, this hike has been postponed until Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 9:30 am.
On Saturday, March 1, 2014, the Marin Conservation League continues its series of Walks at the lovely Cypress Grove Research Center of Audubon Canyon Ranch (ACR) on Tomales Bay. Donated to ACR by Clifford Conly, the once private residence and cypress grove now serve as the science research center for the complex of ACR properties. Nearby is the marsh dedicated to MCL co-founder Caroline Livermore upon her death in 1968.
We will do a leisurely one mile loop trail, followed by gathering for a talk and brown bag lunch in the Conly Center. Wear layers and bring your lunch, camera and binocs for birding! This is a FREE event.
Directions to Cypress Grove: Drive 9 miles north on State Highway One from Pt. Reyes Station to Marshall. The entry gate to Cypress Grove is 1/2 mile north of Marshall and marked with address “20545” and the ACR green-white egret logo. Enter gate and continue on road, taking left-hand fork to parking area. Gather at parking.
For reservations, call the MCL office at 485-6257 or firstname.lastname@example.org/events.
