DESCRIPTION:Olompali State Historic Park  Saturday\, March 23  9:30 am - 12:30 pm  2.7 mile loop hike  Meet in the parking area\, Olompali State Historic Park (please note: $8 parking fee; cash only)    Register Now     On March 23\, join MCL for a walk led by MCL President Susan Stompe and Biologist Clint Kellner for our thirteenth Walk into (Conservation) History at Olompali SHP.  This moderately strenuous 2.7-mile hike on the Miwok and Loop Trails is free and open to the public.    Free\, family-friendly\, open to the public (parking fee of $8 applies)  Wear comfortable hiking shoes\, sunscreen and hat\, and layers!  Sorry\, no dogs are allowed on state park trails           Nestled on the east-facing slopes of Mount Burdell\, Olompali State Historic Park offers exquisite views from the Petaluma River basin out to the San Francisco Bay.  Olompali’s serene hills and waters have been home to Coast Miwok\, wealthy landowners\, Catholic priests\, a psychedelic rock group and a hippie commune.    Wear layers\, sunscreen and comfortable shoes\, and bring a snack\, water and camera. After the walk\, meet at the Frame House (Visitor Center/Museum) to learn more about the incredible people of Olompali. Feel free to bring a picnic lunch for after the walk. Sorry—dogs are not allowed in State Historic Parks.
