Join ranger/photographer Craig Solin on a short hike through Cascade Canyon, hopefully ending with a chance to photograph one of Marin’s best waterfalls. We’ll explore the photo possibilities along the way including colorful wildflowers, bubbling creeks, and unique flora. We will also talk about the steelhead that inhabit San Anselmo Creek. Dress in layers, wear sturdy shoes (it could be muddy or slippery), bring water and snacks and bring a camera and a tripod if you can. Friendly dogs are welcome, but must be leashed.
Rain will cancel the event. Questions: Contact Ranger Craig Solin at (415) 473-2816 or CSolin@marincounty.org. Meet at Doc Edgar Park on Cascade Dr in Fairfax. DIRECTIONS: From Hwy 101 in San Rafael, take exit 452 for Central San Rafael west. Follow 3rd St approximately 1 mile. Continue on 2nd St, which merges into 4th St. 4th St urns into Red Hill Ave after 0.6 mile; follow for 0.5 mile. Stay right onto Sir Francis Drake Blvd and follow 1.8 miles. Left onto Bank St, right onto Bolinas Rd, and slight right to continue onto Cascade Dr (at the stop sign). Doc Edgar Park is on the right.
