Canyon Burn Recovery Discovery Hike

We will hike into two canyons that were burned intensely in June, 2008. We will focus on the ecology of fire and observe how the ecosystems recover from fire.

We will also provide the historical and political context for the continued efforts to preserve San Bruno Mountain. Bring wind/ sun protection and wear sturdy shoes and long pants.

Directions: Drivers take Bayshore Boulevard to Old County Road, main entrance to Brisbane. Pass city park, and go straight up Visitacion. Or take #292 SamTrans bus, departing 9:12 from Transbay Terminal; five minute walk to meeting place. Call SamTrans at (800)660-4287 for northbound bus information.
