10:00 AM to 12:30 PM

**NOTE: this event is full** Seismologist Peggy Hellweg will lead this walking tour of the Hayward Fault through Berkeley.

October 2008 marks the 140th anniversary of the last big quake on the Hayward Fault. Join Bay Nature and UC Berkeley seismologist Peggy Helweg for a free walking tour of the Hayward Fault in Berkeley. We'll see landforms that have been shaped by the fault, and hear about how scientists study the fault, as well as what's being to done to secure buildings along the fault. Be sure to check out our Hayward Fault article as well.

Attendance is limited. Please RSVP to hikes@baynature.org or (510)528-8550.

We'll meet at Euclid and Hearst, the northeast corner of campus, and walk south to the Clark Kerr Campus. The walk is about a mile, with several stops along the way.

This event is easily accessible by public transit. AC Transit Route 52L stops at Hearst and LeRoy, a block from our starting point. AC Transit Route 7 stops near the ending point of our walk.
