Nature through a lens

Friday, June 20, 2008
4:32 PM to 4:32 PM

Join amateur photographers and docents for a leisurely 3-mile nature photography hike.

Join amateur photographers and docents Frances Cleveland and Jack Zirker for a leisurely 3-mile nature photography hike. You’ll use your camera to focus on aspects of nature you might not have noticed before, from the tiny whorls and grainy pollen inside a flower…to the orange underbelly of the newt… to the contorted shapes of oak trees… to the broad vistas of the rolling hills. You’ll have a chance to focus your camera on intricate patterns and strange artistry in the natural world, and perhaps discover how plants and animals use their life forms to survive.

Bring your camera. Basic camera and photography techniques will be discussed.

Where to meet: Meet at the Russian Ridge Preserve parking lot on the northwest corner of the Skyline Boulevard (Highway 35) and Page Mill/Alpine Road intersection (across Skyline Blvd. on the right). Those driving from I-280 on Page Mill Rd. should allow approximately 35 minutes travel time.
