Learn about the critters of Pt. Reyes and experience their habitat.
with John Klobas. This class will be fun for the whole family as we look at the birds, mammals, and other animals that call Point Reyes home. Starting with a lively visit from Wookie, the Hungry Owl Project’s Barn Owl, we’ll learn what owls eat, how they live, and how to protect and encourage them. We’ll learn to identify some of the other owls of the park, too. After a hands-on look at resident animal skins and birds, we’ll go for a short hike in the gathering and magical dusk of “owl light.” We’ll listen for owls, search for tracks, and see who wants to be seen. We’ll finish the evening with a story circle to learn more about the critters we’ve encountered. Appropriate for ages 6 and up. Call for directions.
