Remove Weeds and Restore Oakland Wetlands with Save The Bay

Saturday, June 21, 2008
9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Volunteer and learn about your local plant community members like gumplant, jaumea and salt grass as you help us propagate plants. In late spring we may be working directly in the wetlands weeding out non-native species and doing shoreline cleanup work. Later in the summer volunteers may also help us collect seeds, make plant cuttings, transplant plants and other nursery work. This urban area includes some of the last remaining wetland habitat in the East Bay and is home to many species, including the endangered California clapper rail and burrowing owls. This program is part of Save The Bay's ongoing wetland restoration projects with our site partner East Bay Regional Park District.
