Slides, stories and a book signing with Robert Kull, author of Solitude: Seeking Wisdom in Extremes
In 2001, Robert Kull traveled to a remote uninhabited island on the Pacific coast of southern Chile, with all the equipment and supplies he would need to build a camp and stay, completely alone, for a year. For his Ph.D. fieldwork, he planned to explore the physical, emotional and spiritual effects of deep wilderness solitude. Join Bob for an evening of slides and stories of his remarkable experiences on this wild and windswept island. Learn how he spent his days–coping with the challenges of staying warm, dry and well-fed; listening to the sounds of the rain and sea; watching wildlife; and surrendering to the mysterious wonder of wilderness solitude. Following the program, Bob will sign copies of his new book, Solitude: Seeking Wisdom in Extremes.
