This small bay on the edge of the San Joaquin River was once an upland farm, now it’s a popular stop for birders, anglers, and hikers.

Big Break is home to 70 species of birds and several species of mammals.

The Big Break Regional Trail which along the southern edge of the bay connects to theĀ  Marsh Creek RegionalTrail, providing access to Brentwood and Oakley, and to the Delta de Anza Regional Trail.
