Watershed lands owned by the East Bay Municipal Utility District require a permit, but it’s cheap and easy to get, and it’s your key to thousands of acres of open space. The land in Alameda County allows cross-country treks from Redwood Regional to Las Trampas. And the trails are never crowded.
