8538 acre Park managed by: California Department of Fish and Game
Nestled in several sloughs, Grizzly island offers a variety of wildlife with little disturbance from other humans… except during hunting season. See tule elk, otters, and a plethora of water birds.
This area is part of Suisun Marsh, the largest contiguous estuarine marsh in America. It is open to the public from approximately February through July and at the end of September. During the closed periods, it is open to hunting so visitors should check with Department of Fish and Game staff before planning a visit early or late in the hiking season.
